Blooper Antics - Dive Bomb

One of my favourite things about photography is being able to capture things that we don’t see when they’re happening right in front of us.  It’s even better when something becomes funnier just because it’s been freeze framed.  I was looking through some of my old chickadee pictures (read: the rejects that didn’t make it onto my sites) and by the end I was laughing like an idiot.  So here is the first post in a series that I'm going to call Blooper Antics. I hope you find them as funny as I did... although it’s entirely possible that I’m just easily amused.

Enjoying the View

Years ago my best friend and I were hanging out in a park.  There was this bench under a tree at the other end of the park and it looked beautiful and serene with the light hitting it just right.   My friend asked me an interesting question, "Would you rather be sitting on that bench or looking at it?"  I said that I would rather be looking at it because if I was sitting on it then I wouldn't be able to enjoy the view.

I think that answer is pretty representative of my view on life and explains why I'm so drawn to photography.

Here we go!

I decided to start a blog because I recently started selling my photographs online (see my website here: http://www.photoantics.ca/, *shameless plug*). Most people who sell their wares online agree that blogs are important marketing tools and I don't disagree.  But I suck at writing.  I really do. I don't think that I have anything particularly interesting or clever to say and if I do I usually say it rather than write it.  

So I found myself with a blog and nothing to say.  This is probably the 5th version of this blog.  I've written a bunch of posts and then just deleted them.  They all felt too forced and too unlike me.  I don't want to market. So I'm not going to.  All I'm going to do is show you the world as I see it through my photography.
